Christine Hämmerling

Christine Hämmerling studied Empirical Cultural Studies, History, and Sociology at the University of Tübingen and the University of Prague from 2003 to 2010. During the first funding period of the Popular Seriality Research Unit (2010-2013), she was a research associate in the sub-project "Quotidian Integration and Social Positioning of Pulp Novels (Heftromane) and Television Series." In 2014 she worked at the department of Cultural Anthropology / European Ethnology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen where she finished her dissertation. Since 2014 she is a research associate (Oberassistentin) at the department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies – Popular Culture (http://www.isek.uzh.ch/aboutus/team/haemmerling.html). Her research interests include media analysis, the study of consumerism and ethnographic methods as well as European minorities and contemporary history.
