Maria Sulimma, born 1985, studied Political Science and English Philology at the University of Göttingen and Marmara Üniversitesi, Istanbul. She completed her studies in 2012 with a Master’s thesis on the impact of gender in the newspaper coverage of female politicians. She has been a lecturer in the American Studies program (English Department) at the University of Göttingen since 2012.
Maria Sulimma is the administrator of the Popular Seriality Research Unit. She is working on her dissertation "Serial Discourses of Gender in Contemporary Cable Television Narratives."
